POLITICAL YOUTH SESSION: Putting families at the centre in government policy
The political session for youth will be about the needs of modern families. Families are facing financial problems such as high costs, lack of support facilities in the vicinity and a big gap between their needs and official family policy. The challenge in any country in the world is how the families actually can be met in their needs.

As a solution to these problems, Centres for Youth and Families are established in the Netherlands. People can come with all their questions and problems about youth and families to these centres. But is this a solution which really addresses the needs of families and what can we internationally learn from each other? Besides, is the privacy of families not in danger if the government follows an active family policy?

The discussion in the political youth session will focus on these questions. Representatives of Dutch political youth organizations will also actively participate the debate.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION: this session is also separately accessible for those who do not participate in the rest of the conference programme. Costs: €5 to be paid cash at entrance.
